The buses have order!

I spend a lot of time thinking about stuff. I need to find answers a lot (the last thing I decided to look up was why, at the front of barbers they have a red and white spiral). For example, I’ll end up waiting at bus stops (waiting for a bus of course, nothing dodgy now) and wondering why buses...

Ok, while I’m in a bout of shameless self promotion or what my team have been working on really. This next one I am very proud of, you can find it here:
http://inspiroscope.expedia.co.uk
or go to the Expedia Site and click on the “Inspiroscope” banner on the right.

As its Friday I’ve decided to do some promoting, here is a site I’ve been working on (typically, being a server side programmer, you’ll never get to see what I’ve done, but hey, it works). It’s for Mini, their new car which they’re calling “the other Mini”, so this site promotes this by short films, these are limited edition films which only come up at certain times through the week. Check the counter below to see. I really like the artwork

It’s simply too much!

Over the past year or so I have realised something. No matter whether one can afford something or not, there is a ceiling to the amount one might pay for something. There are some shameless prices out there for goods and services.

Example: There is a pizza place off Brick Lane, it’s an “organic pizza place” the pizzas look lovely, probably taste that way. But I refuse to go, why? because pizzas are £9.50-£10.00! Pizzas are not expensive food, or shouldn’t be. I won’t pay this because if I ordered I’d feel like the waitress, chef and owners are laughing at me as well as all the way to the bank, “I can’t believe these suckers pay this much”.

Nintendo back at the top

Nothing makes me happier than to see Nintendo back in the top of the console charts once more. It’s a happy day. I’ve waxed lyrical about the corporations like Microsoft and Sony coming in and releasing sequel after sequel (I love them, the new graphics etc, but it just lacks the gameplay a lot of the time). It was a sad day to see Sega be dumped at the wayside to make way for the PS2 and Xbox.

itunes, we all scream for itunes

I’ve just been having a discussion here. Do you remember when itunes first came out for the PC? about a 4MB download, maybe 6. It worked ok, typically, like any mac product for the PC, it was quite slow, but ok, not half as bad as what we have now in itunes 7. Don’t get me wrong, I love itunes, I’d find it difficult to move, which is why I won’t, but bulkiness is a problem with all software.

Anti-piracy ads

If you watch DVDs, most nowadays have an anti-piracy warning saying stuff like “you would steal a video”, “you wouldn’t steal a car”. I always like those because I think if people could download a car, they probably would.

My own little bus revolution

As we approach hopelessly, yet again into a Tube strike, yielding yet again to Bob Crow and his bunch of overpaid croanies, I felt it important to talk about my new London Transport love. The common bus.

I’ve used the buses for a few years in preference to getting on the Tube. I did rib a friend (sorry Jambo) when he had decided to do this many years ago for being cheap, but I now swallow my pride and have to say, he was right.
